Santorini, Greece

Santorini had been a dream of mine and heard unforgettable tales about the sunsets over the Aegean. So, when an open seat popped up, I booked a ticket and left Athens earlier than I expected. It was the moment I learned about the consequences of improper planning but also experienced the thrill and rewards of the true meaning of traveling. I lived in the car that I used to drive around, accidentally experienced a nude beach, missed my return flight and had to sleep under some stairs, sang and danced with the locals, and toasted some of the best wine I’ve ever had with people who had dreams that were almost as big as mine.

The short moment I spent on that island had set the tone to how I wanted to live and forced-opened every door that I thought I would never enter. Though it had taken many years and many miles, I had finally found my purpose.
